PhoneSwitch Deluxe 1.0 Beta has been released. This is the first of the deluxe versions of PhoneSwitch and also the first of the non-freeware versions. Don't worry, PhoneSwitch Basic is right around the corner (with a few upgrades) and will always be freeware. What I'm testing in this version of PhoneSwitch is not only the new features (exclude list, only relaunch after incoming calls, reset app after X minutes, bypass phoneswitch if caller is unknown), but also the trial registration process. This version is only a 3 day trial. I set it this way completely for testing purposes. The full 1.0 trial will actually be 37 days (I always figured 30 days was too short, so I threw on an extra week!). So what do you get for testing this 3 day trial for me? You get 50% off the purchase price of PhoneSwitch Deluxe! Regular retail will be an overwhelming $8.00. Once your PhoneSwitch Deluxe 3 day trial runs out a coupon code will show up in the bottom right corner of the registration screen. Hold on to this coupon code for 50% off when you purchase PhoneSwitch Deluxe. At the moment the MyTreo.net store isn't allowing new items to be added, so actual registrations may not work until they get the store updated (hold on to your code anyway!). In about a week or so when I release the 37 day trial it will simply take the place of the 3 day trial and you'll get 37 more days (even if your 3 day trial is expired). With that said, get the new beta here.

UPDATE: Due to an error by me all new users wanting to try ChatWorks weren't able to. The web based authentication script was still limiting access to the original set of beta testers. This would cause the Connect button in ChatWorks to appear dead. I have fixed the error and now ChatWorks is truely available to everyone. Sorry for the inconvenience.
As ChatWorks development seems to be rather slow these days I have decided to open the beta versions up to anyone that would like to try them. I'm hoping that by doing this I will get more feedback about problems and new ideas. If you would like to try out any of the beta versions of ChatWorks here are the steps:
- Go here
- Create a new account
- Go here - Download the latest beta
- Use the same account/password you created for BoraWare.com to access the program (You can't access the software without an account)
Let me know how it treats you. I'll be working on the next part of Beta 13 soon, so be ready!

I've been doing some work on PhoneSwitch lately and it's been moving along quite nicely. So far i've implemented the exclude list which allows you to set any number of programs to not be "remembered" by PhoneSwitch. This allows you to use 3rd party dialers to dial numbers (such as 2dial for voicemail) without them being set as the last program. I've also added the much requested option to only return to the last program if the call was incoming. With this option there is also an option to set the program to be returned to upon outgoing call. So let's say, for example, you dial from Initiate. If you're surfing along and someone calls you then you will be returned to the web program upon ending the call. If you dial someone (from anywhere) it will then return you to Initiate every time (if you set it). By default the Phone program is set. Tomorrow I will work on adding the option to clear the last remembered program and set to a default after a set amount of time. This way if a call comes in and you were enjoying a game of Sudoku three hours ago you will be returned to the app of your choice instead of the game. Now, with these new features there might be a price. I'm definitely considering releasing PhoneSwitch Lite and PhoneSwitch Deluxe. PhoneSwitch Lite would be the current freeware version and would remain freeware forever (all bug fixes would also remain free). PhoneSwitch Deluxe would include the exclude list and advanced options such as returning only upon an incoming call. I'd offer the deluxe version as a standard 30 day trial first so that you can make sure it works how you'd like. The heafty price tag I am thinking of would be $8.00, although I am considering running a 50% off promotion when it's introduced. Give me some feedback if you think that price is too high.

If you like to think of yourself as on the "cutting edge" then this is
for you. Tonight I added a new item to the ChatWorks download section
called "Nightly Build." This file will usually be the version of
ChatWorks I have on my development system. Due note that this version
will probably be buggier than any other beta version released because
it is in the middle of it's development process. Also note that even
though this version is available I (the developer) may not even be
using it on my own device yet. With all of that said, download the
nightly builds AT YOUR OWN RISK. Registered Beta Testers can find the
nightly build here.
Note:
Do not post bug reports related to the nightly builds, they are for
curiosity purposes mostly and are not a finished product. Thank you.

I just released ChatWorks Beta 13 Part 2 R1. This is the first bug fix
revision of the second part of a multi-part beta that is currently in
development. Here is a list of some of the bug fixes in the first
revision:
- Code restructuring to hopefully increase stability - Removed ALL ring tone code that was in development to hopefully clear up some resets - Added some code to the cancel button on the master account setup to fix some problems - Numerous other little bug fixes
