Phone Switch Feature Request 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I don't see a forum for Phone Switch but I have a feature request. (However, it may just be my phone that does this -- I hope not.)

I have my phone set to automatically lock. After logging on, after say 30 minutes to an hour, most times the first app I see is the default launcher. It would be really, really, really nice if, after logging in, it went to the last opened app or a designated app.

It does sometimes do this -- occasionally I log on and it picks back up wherever I left off (including websites in Blazer). But I think emails coming in (or something, it may be totally random) makes it switch back to the default launcher.

I would personally prefer that it start with my calendar, or with TakePhone, or with the Propel launcher. Anything other than the default launcher.

Phone Switch handles calls exactly how I think it should ideally work when turning the phone on. So, please help, if you can.

The reason that ptpChat is the only program to have a space in this forum is because I was originally intending this to be for programs that are in development (which PhoneSwitch is not). I am thinking about making this a much more active forum for all of my apps soon though.

To answer the request: Turning your phone on with the power button (usually the red button) should always take you to whatever you were doing last (unless you've programmed it with a 3rd party phone/launcher to do something else). Assigning an app to one of your hard keys will always take you to that app upon pressing the button. For example, on my Centro I have the phone button set to launch TakePhone, the Home button set to launch Initiate, and just use the Power button to go to whatever I was doing last.

So basically what I'm saying is that your power button and hard keys should do just what you want and I'm not really sure how I could write something to do otherwise. Sorry...

OK, thanks. Unfortunately, that's not how my phone has been functioning. I also have TakePhone setup for my phone button and Propel setup for my home button but, as I mentioned previously, often, when I turn on the phone using the red/power key it opens with the default launcher.

Now, I have noticed that when I do a soft reset it does properly open with Propel. I have no idea what's making it kick me to the default launcher. I'm assuming it may be from missed texts or tasks/calendar events that I clear instead of view.

But I will take my Centro to the Sprint Store and hopefully they'll check it out for me to make sure something isn't wrong with my phone, which I'm thinking there must be, since it's just my phone doing this.

Thanks, again.
